I think that every book has a main idea, a main thought. And around of this thought author has built his story to explain this idea.
In “The Old Man and the Sea” I’ve found this one: “But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated.”
You can find another idea, but I’ve found this one.

Думаю, не стоит что-либо говорить об этом произведении. В школе нам говорили совсем не то, что я прочел сейчас. Лишь пара цитат:
«Кто родился с тысячами, воспитался на тысячах, тот уже не приобретет: у того уже завелись и прихоти, и мало ли чего нет!»
«Если вы хотите разбогатеть скоро, так вы никогда не разбогатеете; если же хотите разбогатеть, не спрашиваясь о времени, то разбогатеете скоро»

Впечатляет?

Or this one: “They say the seeds of what we will do are in all of us, but it always seemed to me that in those who make jokes in life the seeds are covered with better soil and with a higher grade of manure”.

In questo libro si tratta dei orsi che hanno provato vivere come la gente. In questo modo si pu? capire tutti difetti della societ? umana. Su questo dice il Re dei orsi: “Specialmente dispiaceva al Re, che invece di accontentarsi come una volta della loro bella pelliccia, ora la maggior parte delle sue bestie indossavano vestiti, uniformi e mantelli copiati dagli uomini, credendo di essere eleganti; e non si accorgevano di coprirsi di ridicolo. A costo di crepar di caldo, se ne vedeva in giro perfino con dei grossi tabarri di pelliccia, tanto per far sapere al mondo intero che i soldi non gli mancavano”.

Dicendo con le parole di Mike Corleone, posso scrivere che in qeusto libro si tratta di “un uomo d’affari che si sfotta di provvedere a moglie e figli e a quegli amici dei quali pu? aver bisogno un giorno in momenti difficili. Non accetta le regole della societа in cui viviamo, perch? esse l’avrebbero condannato ad una vita non adatta ad un uomo come lui, un uomo dalla forza e personalit? straordinarie. Ci? che devi capire ? che si considera alla pari con quei grandi come i Presidenti e i Primi Ministri, i giudici della Corte Suprema e i Governatori, degli Stati. Rifiuta di accettare la loro volont? sopra la sua. Rifiuta di vivere sottostando a delle leggi stabilite da altri, che lo condannano a una vita fallita. Ma il suo fine ultimo ? far parte con un certo potere di questa societ?, dato che essa in realtа non protegge i membri che non hanno una loro forza individuale. Nel contempo opera in base a un codice etico che considera di gran lunga superiore alle strutture legali della societ?”.

Vito Corleone ha detto da solo: “Non ho fiducia nella protezione della societ?, non ho intenzione di mettere il mio destino nelle mani di uomini la cui sola qualifica ? di essere riusciti a fregare un sacco di gente facendola votare per loro”.

Alcuni pensieri dal libro:

Согласитесь, сказано как будто бы про нас и про сейчас: «Зачем я так глуп, что если другие глупы и коли я знаю уж наверно, что они глупы, то сам не хочу быть умным?». «Если ждать, пока все станут умными, то слишком уж долго будет».
Так есть ли смысл ждать? Кто не осознает этого, тому и ждать не надо. Купить почтовые аккаунты Кто же осознает, тому остается только грустить. Ведь, «истинно великие люди должны ощущать на свете великую грусть».

И вообще, может лучше остаться самим собою, ведь, по мнению Федора Михайловича, «солнцу прежде всего надо быть солнцем».

This book is very interesting for the people who want to understand how works the capitalist system. For me this book is interesting because of its conclusions, such as:

1. Thus, differences among individuals increase the power of the collaborating group beyond the sum of individual efforts. Synergetic collaboration brings into play distinctive talents that would have been left unused had their possessors been forced to strive alone for sustenance. Specializations releases and encourages the development of a few individuals whose distinctive contributions may suffice to provide them a living or even to exceed the contributions others make to the total.
2. Thus without the rich – without those who accumulated capital -those poor who could exist at all would be very much poorer indeed, scratching a livelihood from marginal lands on which every drought would kill most of the children they would be trying to raise. The creation of capital altered such conditions more than anything else. As the capitalist became able to employ other people for his own purposes, his ability to feed them served both him and them. This ability increased further as some individuals were able to employ others not just directly to satisfy their own needs but to trade goods and services with countless others. Thus property, contract, trade, and the use of capital did not simply benefit a minority.

Zuerst wollte ich mehr ?ber dieses Buch sagen. Aber als ich es zu Ende gelesen habe, mochte ich nur das mit den W?rter von Hesse sagen: «Weisheit ist nicht mitteilbar. Weisheit, welche ein Weiser mitzuteilen versucht, klingt immer wie Narrheit».
